नोद्धूतोन्मत्तमूढैश्च नाविनीतैश्च पण्डितः ।

गच्छेन्मैत्रीं न चाशीलेर्न च चौर्यादिदूषितैः ॥

Transliteration

noddhūtonmattamūḍhaiś ca nāvinītaiś ca paṇḍitaḥ / gacchen maitrīṃ na cāśīlair na ca cauryādidūṣitaiḥ

Translation

学識ある者は、傲慢な者、狂える者、愚かな者、あるいは無規律な者と交わってはならない。不徳の者とも、盗みなど同類の悪によって汚れた者とも、友誼を結んではならない。
