Adhyaya 31 — Naimittika and Related Śrāddha Rites: Sapiṇḍīkaraṇa, Eligibility, Timing, and Procedure

पितॄniddiśya यद्भक्त्या यजमानो नृपात्मज ॥

Transliteration

pitṛtīrthena toyañca dadyāttebhyaḥ samāhitaḥ / pitṝniddiśya yadbhaktyā yajamāno nṛpātmaja

Translation

落ち着き、注意深く、祖霊のティールタ（pitṛ-tīrtha―祖先に供えるための定められた手の形・注ぎ口）によって彼らに水を供えるべきである。信をもって行い、ピトリ（祖霊）に捧げることこそ、王子の子（nṛpātmaja）よ、その行為の正しい精神である。
