Adhyaya 30 — Madālasā’s Instruction on Household Duties and Naimittika–Śrāddha Rites
क्रियां श्राद्धाश्रयामन्यां नित्यनैमित्तिकीं शृणु ।
दर्शस्तत्र निमित्तं वै कालश्चन्द्रक्षयात्मकः ।
नित्यतां नियतः कालस्तस्याः संसूचयत्यथ ॥
kriyāṃ śrāddhāśrayām anyāṃ nityanaimittikīṃ śṛṇu | darśas tatra nimittaṃ vai kālaś candrakṣayātmakaḥ | nityatāṃ niyataḥ kālas tasyāḥ saṃsūcayaty atha ||
今、シュラーダ(śrāddha)に関わる別の儀礼を聞け。それは常例でもあり、また機縁にもよる。そこでは「ダルシャ」(darśa、新月日)がまさに契機であり、その時は月の衰滅・終尽によって特徴づけられる。さらに、定められた規整の時刻は、それが規則的に反復することを示す。
