Remembrance (nāma-smaraṇa) is integral to ritual efficacy; gratitude becomes concrete through naming, gifting, and respectful closure with the officiants.
Dharma/ācāra passage; not pañcalakṣaṇa.
Apasavya marks a deliberate ‘turning’ of attention to the ancestral realm; declaring ‘akṣayya’ intends an unbroken flow of merit to the named departed.
