त॑ दृष्टवा रोमहर्षो5 भूदूरुकम्पश्न मारिष । स तत्र सिंहसंकाशमनीकं व्यधमच्छरै:,मारिष! उस समय उसे देखकर मेरे तो रोंगटे खड़े हो गये और जाँघें काँपने लगीं; किंतु उस देवपुत्रने अपने बाणोंद्वारा सिंहके समान पराक्रमी दुर्योधन और उसकी सेनाको संतप्त कर दिया

Transliteration

taṁ dṛṣṭvā romaharṣo ’bhūd ūrūkampas tu māriṣa | sa tatra siṁhasaṅkāśam anīkaṁ vyadhamac charaiḥ ||

Translation

彼を見たとき、我が身の毛はよだち、腿は震えました、尊き御方よ。されどその場で、天より生まれしその勇者は矢をもって獅子のごとき軍勢—ドゥルヨーダナとその兵—を苦しめ、真の武勇とは、初めは畏れと驚きを呼ぶとしても、やがて人の心を堅く支えるものだと示したのです。
