माया हि बहव: सन्ति शास्त्रमाश्रित्य चिन्तिता:। तेषां युद्ध तु पापिष्ठं वेदयन्ति पुराविद:

Transliteration

māyā hi bahavaḥ santi śāstram āśritya cintitāḥ | teṣāṃ yuddhaṃ tu pāpiṣṭhaṃ vedayanti purāvidaḥ ||

Translation

クリパは言った。「まことに、シャーストラ（śāstra）の教えに拠れば、数多の策謀を案じることができる。だがそのすべての中で、戦（いくさ）ほど罪深い行いはない——古き伝承に通じた賢者たちはそう宣言する。」
