बहून्याश्चर्यरूपाणि कुर्वाणा जनसंसदि । इज्यास्त्रे चोपसंधाने पण्डितास्तत्र शोभना:,जनसमुदायमें बहुत-से आश्वर्यजनक विनोदपूर्ण कार्य करने तथा यज्ञ-सम्बन्धी आयुधों (पात्रों) को यथास्थान रखने एवं प्रोक्षण आदि करनेमें ही पण्डितोंकी शोभा है

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | bahūny āścaryarūpāṇi kurvāṇā janasansadi | ijyāstre copasaṃdhāne paṇḍitās tatra śobhanāḥ ||

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「人々の集う場において、学識ある者たちは、多くの驚くべき、しかも興趣ある業を示すとき真に卓越する。また祭式（ヤジュニャ）を執り行うにあたり、法具を所定の位置に正しく整え、洒水など定められた作法と付随の儀礼を寸分違わず遂行するとき、その優れた姿が現れる。」
