वैशम्पायन उवाच तथा तौ कथयित्वा तु बाष्पमुत्सूज्य दु:खितौ । रात्रिशेषं तमत्युग्रं धारयामासतुर्ह्ददि
vaiśampāyana uvāca tathā tau kathayitvā tu bāṣpam utsṛjya duḥkhitau | rātriśeṣaṃ tam atyugraṃ dhārayāmāsatur hṛdi ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「かく語り合うと、二人は悲嘆に沈み、涙を流して身を退いた。残る夜の時を激しい動揺のうちに耐え忍び、互いの言葉を胸奥に秘して守った。」
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even amid intense grief, one should practice restraint and discretion—containing speech and safeguarding confidential matters—so that personal emotion does not endanger dharma or a necessary larger aim.
