Brahmaṇānāṃ Yācanā—Tīrtha-yātrā-prastāvaḥ
The Brahmanas’ Petition and the Proposal of Pilgrimage
यत् तद् ब्रह्मशिरों नाम तपसा रुद्रमागमत् । अमृतादुत्थितं रौद्रं तल्लब्धं सव्यसाचिना,'जो ब्रह्मशिर नामक अस्त्र अमृतसे प्रकट होकर तपस्याके प्रभावसे भगवान् शंकरको मिला था, वही पाशुपतास्त्र सव्यसाची अर्जुनने प्राप्त कर लिया है
yat tad brahmaśiro nāma tapasā rudram āgamat | amṛtād utthitaṃ raudraṃ tal labdhaṃ savyasācinā ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「不死の甘露より現れ、苦行(タパス)の力によってルドラに至った『ブラフマシラス』と呼ばれる恐るべき武器――そのルドラの武器を、今や両手で射る名手サヴィヤサーチー、アルジュナが得たのだ。」
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Extraordinary power—especially destructive power—should be approached through discipline (tapas) and moral qualification, and is legitimate only when sanctioned by higher dharma; it is a gift to be restrained, not a tool for ego or aggression.
Vaiśampāyana reports that Arjuna has obtained a fearsome divine weapon called Brahmaśiras, associated with Rudra and described as arising from amṛta; it signals Arjuna’s divinely authorized empowerment for the coming conflict.
