पृथिव्यां यानि तीर्थानि अन्तरिक्षचराणि च । नद्यो हृदास्तडागाश्ष्‌ सर्वप्र्नवणानि च,पृथ्वीपर और आकाशमें जितने तीर्थ, नदी, हृद, तड़ाग, सम्पूर्ण झरने, उदपान, बावली, तीर्थ और मन्दिर हैं, वे प्रत्येक मासकी अमावस्याको संनिहतीमें अवश्य पधारेंगे। तीर्थोका संघात या समूह होनेके कारण ही वह संनिहती नामसे विख्यात है

Transliteration

ghulastya uvāca | pṛthivyāṁ yāni tīrthāni antarīkṣa-carāṇi ca | nadyo hradās taḍāgāś ca sarva-prasravaṇāni ca |

Translation

グーラスティヤは言った。「地上にあるすべてのティールタ、また中界（空）を巡るティールタもまた、河川・湖沼・池、あらゆる泉に至るまで——それらは毎月の新月日（アマーヴァースヤー）ごとに、必ずサンニヒティ（Saṁnihitī）へと集い合う。諸ティールタの合流し、群れ集うところであるがゆえに、この地はサンニヒティの名で知られるのだ。」
