Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Sañjaya on Arjuna’s Indraloka report and the political consequences
tvad-guṇākṛṣṭa-cittāham anajra-vaśam āgatā | cirābhilaṣito vīra mamāpy eṣa manorathaḥ ||
The verse highlights how perceived virtue (guṇa) can powerfully move the mind and awaken desire; it implicitly warns that even admiration for excellence can become a binding force when one falls under 'vaśa' (dominion), calling for discernment and self-mastery.
The speaker openly confesses being drawn by the other person’s virtues and admits a long-held, previously unspoken wish, framing the moment as a candid revelation of inner longing addressed to a 'vīra' (hero).
