Vyāsa’s Counsel to Yudhiṣṭhira: Pratismṛti-vidyā, Arjuna’s Aśtra-Quest, and the Move to Kāmyaka
tayā prayuktayā samyag jagat sarvaṃ prakāśate | tena tvaṃ brahmaṇā tāta saṃyuktaḥ susamāhitaḥ |

Right application of sacred knowledge (mantra/vidyā) brings clarity of perception—seeing the world as it truly is—and this requires inner composure (susamāhita). Spiritual efficacy is linked to correct practice and disciplined attention, not mere possession of words.
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a companion (affectionately ‘tāta’), urging him to be united with Brahman-knowledge and remain concentrated. In the surrounding instruction (as reflected in the accompanying Hindi), this counsel extends toward disciplined austerity and a regulated course of action aimed at gaining divine favor.
