Bhīmasena’s Discourse on Kāla, Resolve, and the Feasibility of Ajñātavāsa (भीमसेनस्य कालोपदेशः)
सर्वे कौरवसैन्यस्य सपुत्रामात्यसैनिका: । संविभक्ता हि मात्राभिभोगिरपि च सर्वश:,मन्त्रियों और पुत्रोंके सहित कौरवसेनाके सभी सैनिकोंको दुर्योधनकी ओरसे पूरे वेतन और सब प्रकारकी उपभोग-सामग्रीका वितरण किया गया है
sarve kauravasainyasya saputrāmātyasainikāḥ | saṁvibhaktā hi mātrābhir bhogair api ca sarvaśaḥ ||
ユディシュティラは言った。「カウラヴァ軍の兵は皆、王子や大臣を伴う者に至るまで、しかるべく行き渡っている。ドゥルヨーダナの側から、満額の俸給と、あらゆる糧秣・必需品、享受の品が、相応の分量で配られているのだ。」
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse highlights a practical dimension of rulership and warfare: an army’s cohesion depends on orderly provision—regular pay and adequate supplies. Ethically, it points to the responsibility of leaders to sustain those who serve them, showing how material support becomes a tool of loyalty and political stability.
Yudhiṣṭhira observes (or reports) that Duryodhana has ensured comprehensive distribution of wages and all necessary comforts to the Kaurava forces, including those connected to the royal administration (sons and ministers). It underscores the Kauravas’ preparedness and organized backing of their military.
