Shloka 38

पास्यामि तावत्‌ पानीयमिति पार्थो वृकोदर: । ततो<भ्यधावत्‌ पानीयं पिपासु: पुरुषर्षभ:

pāsyāmi tāvat pānīyam iti pārtho vṛkodaraḥ | tato 'bhyadhāvat pānīyaṃ pipāsuḥ puruṣarṣabhaḥ ||

「まず水を探そう」とパールタ(アルジュナ)はヴリコーダラ(ビーマ)に言った。すると渇きに責められたその人中の雄牛は、水の方へと駆け出した——やがて訪れる法(ダルマ)の試練は、切迫した欲求に任せる衝動ではなく、克己と敬虔、そして正しき諫言への服従を求めるのである。
