vaiśampāyana uvāca | mahārhe śayane vīraṃ spardhayāstaraṇasaṃvṛte | śayānam ati-viśvastaṃ brahmaṇyaṃ satyavādinam ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。見事な敷物に覆われた、きわめて高価な寝台の上で、その英雄は眠っていた—まったく無防備で、安らぎきって。婆羅門への敬虔と真実の言葉で名高い者である。この光景は、武人の徳と自信が、警戒を解いたとき脆さと同居しうることを示している。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
