इस प्रकार श्रीमहाभारत वनपर्वके अन्तर्गत पतिव्रतामाहात्म्यपर्वमें सावित्री- उपाख्यानविषयक दो सौ सत्तानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ

Transliteration

Iti prakāraṁ Śrīmahābhārata-vanaparvake antargata pativratā-māhātmya-parvaṇi Sāvitrī-upākhyāna-viṣayaka dvi-śata-saptāna-śītitamaḥ adhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ.

Translation

かくして、『聖なるマハーバーラタ』「森の巻（ヴァナ・パルヴァ）」のうち、「貞婦の功徳（パティヴラター・マーハートミヤ）」章に収められたサーヴィトリー物語に関する第297章は、ここに円満に終わった。結語は、夫婦の貞節とダルマに立つ不退の決意こそが霊的威力の源であるという倫理的理想を明らかにする。
