इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत वनपवके अन्तर्गत रामोपाख्यानपर्वमें कुम्भकर्ण आदिका वधविषयक दो सौ सत्तासीवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraṃ śrīmahābhārate vanaparvaṇi antar-gate rāmopākhyānaparvaṇi kumbhakarṇādikavadha-viṣayakaḥ dviśata-saptāśītitamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ
かくして『聖なるマハーバーラタ』の「森林篇(ヴァナ・パルヴァ)」に収められた「ラーマ物語(ラーモーパークヒヤーナ)」において、クンバカルナらの討伐を語る第287章はここに完結する。この結語は物語単位の成就を告げ、破壊の力に対する正法の抵抗と、規律ある行為による秩序回復という道徳的枠組みを際立たせる。
