Kuntī’s Regulated Hospitality to a Brāhmaṇa Guest
तेडभिपत्य पुरं भग्ना हतशेषा निशाचरा: । सर्व राज्ञे यथावृत्तं रावणाय न्यवेदयन्,मरनेसे बचे हुए उन निशाचरोंने भग्नमनोरथ होकर लड्कापुरीमें प्रवेश किया तथा रावणके समीप जाकर युद्धका सब समाचार ज्यों-का-त्यों निवेदन कर दिया
teḍabhipatya puraṁ bhagnā hataśeṣā niśācarāḥ | sarvaṁ rājñe yathāvṛttaṁ rāvaṇāya nyavedayan |
そののち、夜をさまようラークシャサたち—心折れ、生き残りもわずかな者—は都へとなだれ込んだ。ラーヴァナに近づき、戦の一部始終を、起こったとおりに余すところなく王に奏上した。
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical necessity of truthful, undistorted reporting—especially in wartime—because a ruler’s judgment and responsibility depend on accurate knowledge of events.
After suffering defeat, the surviving rākṣasas enter Laṅkā and go to Rāvaṇa, where they narrate the battle’s events exactly as they occurred.
