Transliteration

kharaḥ śūrpaṇakhā caiva teṣāṃ vai tapyatāṃ tapaḥ | paricaryā ca rakṣāṃ ca cakratur hṛṣṭamānasau ||

Translation

マールカンデーヤは語った。「カラとシュールパナカーは、喜びに満ちた心で、苦行に励む者たちに仕え、またこれを守護した。彼らの修行を支え、誓戒を守るあいだ見張りとなって護ったのである。」
