Mudgala’s Disenchantment with Heaven

Even amid rivalry, Yudhiṣṭhira models dharmic restraint: he prioritizes safety, courteous speech, and the deliberate refusal to cultivate resentment (vaimanasya). The ethical emphasis is on maintaining goodwill and preventing enmity from hardening into lasting hatred.
Duryodhana has been freed and is leaving with his brothers. Yudhiṣṭhira, speaking affectionately, bids him depart safely and urges him not to bear ill-will toward the Pāṇḍavas, framing the moment as an attempt at de-escalation.
