Mudgalasya Svarga-nirvedaḥ
Mudgala’s Disenchantment with Heaven
anujñātās tu gandharvāḥ pāṇḍuputreṇa dhīmatā | sahāpsarobhiḥ saṃhṛṣṭāś citrasenamukhā yayuḥ ||
The verse highlights dhārmic decorum: even exalted beings act with propriety—seeking and receiving permission, then departing respectfully. Wisdom in leadership is shown through measured consent and orderly closure of an encounter.
After being granted leave by the wise Pāṇḍava (Yudhiṣṭhira), Citrasena/Citraratha and the other Gandharvas, accompanied by Apsarases, happily depart from the place, marking the end of that episode.
