धृतराष्ट्रस्य क्रतु-प्रवर्तनम् तथा पाण्डवानां निमन्त्रण-प्रतिवचनम्

तान् दृष्टवा द्रवत:सर्वान् धार्तराष्ट्रानू पराड्मुखान्
tān dṛṣṭvā dravataḥ sarvān dhārtarāṣṭrān parāṅmukhān
ドリタラーシュトラ（Dhṛtarāṣṭra）の子らが皆、顔を背けて慌ただしく逃げ去るのを見て、ヴァイシャンパーヤナはそれを突然の逆転として語る。恐怖と決意の崩れが誇りを呑み込み、かつての選択の報いが、堅守ではなく逃走として現れ始めたのである。
