नष्टशत्रुर्यदा स्कन्द: प्रयातस्तु महेश्वरम । तदाब्रवीन्महासेनं परिष्वज्य पुरंदर:,शत्रुओंका नाश करके जब कुमार कार्तिकेय भगवान् महेश्वरके पास पहुँचे, उस समय इन्द्रने उनको हृदयसे लगा लिया और इस प्रकार कहा--
naṣṭaśatrur yadā skandaḥ prayātas tu maheśvaram | tadābravīn mahāsenaṃ pariṣvajya purandaraḥ ||
敵を滅ぼし尽くしたスカンダ（クマーラ・カールティケーヤ）がマヘーシュヴァラ（シヴァ）のもとへ赴いたとき、プランダラ（インドラ）はその大将軍を胸に抱き、心からの愛情をもって、ついで言葉をかけた。
