तमांसीव यथा सूर्यो वृक्षानग्निर्घनान् खग: । तथा स्कन्दो5जयच्छत्रून् स्वेन वीर्येण कीर्तिमान्,जैसे सूर्य अन्धकार मिटा देते हैं, आग वृक्षोंको जला डालती है और आकाशचारी वायु बादलोंको छिजन्न-भिन्न कर देती है, वैसे ही कीर्तिशाली कुमार कार्तिकेयने अपने पराक्रमद्वारा समस्त शत्रुओंको नष्ट करके उनपर विजय पायी
tamāṃsīva yathā sūryo vṛkṣān agnir ghanān khagaḥ | tathā skando 'jayac chatrūn svena vīryeṇa kīrtimān ||
マールカンデーヤは語った。「太陽が闇を払い、火が樹々を焼き尽くし、天空を駆ける風が雲を引き裂くように、名高きスカンダは自らの武威によって敵を滅ぼし、勝利を得た。」
