सरमा नाम या माता शुनां देवी जनाधिप । सापि गर्भान् समादत्ते मानुषीणां सदैव हि,नरेश्वर! कुत्तोंकी माता जो देवजातीय सरमा है, वह भी सदैव मानवीय स्त्रियोंके गर्भस्थ बालकोंका अपहरण करती रहती है
saramā nāma yā mātā śunāṃ devī janādhipa | sāpi garbhān samādatte mānuṣīṇāṃ sadaiva hi nareśvara ||
マールカンデーヤは言った。「人々の主よ、サラマー—犬たちの神なる母—もまた、まことに常に、人間の女の胎内から未だ生まれぬ子を奪い去る。」この言葉は道義の警めである。神の系譜に連なる者であっても害をなすことがあり、王たる者は、弱き者を守るべき務めを踏みにじる、隠れて反復する苦患の源に対して、つねに警戒せねばならぬ。
