かくして『聖マハーバーラタ』の「林住篇(ヴァナ・パルヴァ)」――とりわけマールカンデーヤの説話を要約する段において――アージーラサの章段、ならびに人喰いの物語を語る第230章は終わる。この奥書(コロフォン)は当該部分の閉幕を示し、物語の転換を告げ、教訓の枠組みを記憶されるべき訓戒として保つものである。
