Skanda–Mātṛgaṇa-janma: Kumārakāḥ, Kanyāgaṇāḥ, and the Vīrāṣṭaka (स्कन्द-मातृगण-सम्भवः)
एतत् ते सर्वमाख्यातं निखिलेन युधिष्छिर । पृष्टवानसि यं तात धर्म धर्मभूतां वर
etat te sarvam ākhyātaṃ nikhilena yudhiṣṭhira | pṛṣṭavān asi yaṃ tāta dharmaṃ dharmabhṛtāṃ vara ||
マールカンデーヤは言った。「ユディシュティラよ、愛しき子よ、汝が問うたとおり、ダルマについて余はすべてを余すところなく語り終えた。義を支える者のうち最も勝れたる者よ、これこそ汝が求めた教えである。」
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse emphasizes the completion of a dharma-instruction: the sage has fully answered the king’s inquiry, framing dharma as a comprehensive, teachable standard of right conduct and praising Yudhiṣṭhira as one devoted to upholding it.
Mārkaṇḍeya concludes his explanation to Yudhiṣṭhira, stating that he has narrated everything in full in response to the king’s question about dharma, and he addresses him affectionately while honoring his reputation for righteousness.
