Skanda-janma: Śivā/Svāhā, Agni, and the Manifestation of Guha
Mahābhārata 3.214
yasya sarve samārambhā nirāśīrbandhanāḥ sadā | tyāge yasya hutaṃ sarvaṃ sa tyāgī sa ca buddhimān |
True renunciation is not merely abandoning action, but acting without being bound by desire for outcomes; one who offers everything into the spirit of tyāga (relinquishment) is both a genuine tyāgī and a wise person.
In the Vyādha’s discourse on dharma, he defines the marks of a truly wise renouncer: a person whose undertakings are never driven or fettered by expectation, and whose life is characterized by wholehearted sacrifice and letting go.
