Skanda-janma: Śivā/Svāhā, Agni, and the Manifestation of Guha

Mahābhārata 3.214

देवो यः संस्थितस्तस्मिन्नब्बिन्दुरिव पुष्करे | क्षेत्रज् तं विजानीहि नित्यं योगजितात्मकम्‌,जैसे कमलके पत्तेपर पड़ी हुई जलकी बूँद निर्लिप्त होती है, उसी प्रकार ये आत्मदेव कलात्मक शरीरमें असंगभावसे स्थित हैं। वे ही क्षेत्रज्ञ हैं, आप उन्हें जानिये। वे योगसे अपने मन और बुद्धिपर अधिकार प्राप्त करनेवाले तथा नित्य हैं

devo yaḥ saṁsthitas tasminn abbindur iva puṣkare | kṣetrajñaṁ taṁ vijānīhi nityaṁ yogajitātmakam ||

知れ。身の内に住しながら身に染まらぬ神なる自己は、蓮の葉に宿る一滴の水のごとし。その自己こそ「クシェートラジュニャ(場の知者)」である。常住にして、ヨーガにより内なる器官を制し、心と知性を統御する者なり。
