इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत वनपर्वके अन्तर्गत मार्कण्डेयसमास्यापर्वमें धुन्धुमारोपाख्यानविषयक दो सौ एकवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ

Transliteration

Iti prakāraḥ Śrīmahābhārate Vanaparvaṇi antargate Mārkaṇḍeyasamāsyāparvaṇi Dhundhumāropākhyānavishayaka dviśata-ekaviṃśatitamodhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ.

Translation

かくして、聖なる『マハーバーラタ』の「森の巻（ヴァナ・パルヴァ）」における「マールカンデーヤ章」所収、「ドゥンドゥマーラ」譚の第二百一章は終わる。ここに物語の一区切りが儀礼的に閉じられ、森の巻が掲げる道徳と霊性の大きな枠組みの中で、この教訓譚の成就が示される。
