सततं धावमानश्ष्‌ चिन्तयानो विशाम्पते । (भ्रमंस्तत्र महीपाल यदा वर्षगणान्‌ बहून्‌ ।) आसादयामि नैवान्तं तस्य राजन्‌ महात्मन:

Transliteration

satatam dhāvamānaś cintayāno viśāmpate | bhramaṁs tatra mahīpāla yadā varṣagaṇān bahūn | āsādayāmi naivāntaṁ tasya rājan mahātmanaḥ |

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「絶えず走り回り、不安の思いに焼かれて、人々の主よ、我はそこを幾年も彷徨した、王よ。されど、その大魂の終わり（究極の限界）を見出すことはできなかった。そこで王よ、我は心と言葉と行いをもって、法にかなう作法を尽くし、恩寵を授け最も崇敬されるべきその神に帰依したのである。」
