As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction; it frames the narrative ethically by emphasizing completion and orderly transmission of the text. The implied lesson is steadiness and continuity in dharma—life in exile proceeds by stages, and each stage is to be met with discipline and purpose.
This is the formal closing statement for the chapter whose subject is the Pandavas’ movement toward (or concerning) the Kāmyaka forest, situated within the Vana Parva and a subsection associated with Mārkaṇḍeya. It marks the end of that chapter and prepares for the next narrative segment.
