प्रावृट्-शरत्-वर्णनम् — Description of the Monsoon and Autumn; Sarasvatī in the Pāṇḍavas’ Exile

वृक्षानुत्पाटपामास तरसा वै बभज्ज च पृथिव्याश्व प्रदेशान्‌ वै नादयंस्तु वनानि च

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

vr̥kṣān utpāṭayām āsa tarasā vai babhañja ca |

pr̥thivyāś ca pradēśān vai nādayaṃs tu vanāni ca ||

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。ビーマは激しい勢いで木々を根こそぎ引き抜き、たちまち打ち砕いた。彼の咆哮によって、その荒れ地の一帯も森全体も轟き渡った――発情した象王のごとき力、獅子や虎のごとき勇を示し、多くの男たちの突進を一度に押しとどめ得る者として。
