इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत वनपर्वके अन्तर्गत तीर्थयात्रापर्वमें लोगशती र्थयात्राके प्रसंगमें जन्तूपाख्यानविषयक एक सौ अद्ठाईसवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraṃ śrīmahābhārate vanaparvaṇi antargate tīrthayātrāparvaṇi logaśatīrthayātrāprasange jantūpākhyānavिषayaka ekaśatāṣṭāviṃśatitamam adhyāyaḥ samāptaḥ
かくして『マハーバーラタ』森林篇(Vana Parva)に属する聖地巡礼篇(Tīrtha-yātrā Parva)において、ロガシャ(Logasha)の聖なる渡しへの巡礼の次第に関連し、「ジャントゥ・ウパーキャーナ」(Jantu-upākhyāna)と呼ばれる物語を扱う第百二十八章は終わる。これは、巡礼をめぐるより大きな叙述の中で、この教説と物語の一区切りを告げる正式な奥書(コロフォン)である。

This line functions as a colophon rather than a teaching verse: it emphasizes textual structure—how the Mahabharata embeds ethical instruction through framed pilgrimage narratives and subsidiary tales (upākhyānas), and it formally signals the completion of a chapter within that instructional sequence.
The narrator closes the chapter: within Vana Parva’s Tirtha-yatra section, in the episode connected with Logaśa’s pilgrimage site, the portion dealing with the Jantu-upakhyana is declared complete (chapter 128).
