सुमृष्टं भोजयित्वा च ब्राह्मणांस्तत्र केशव: । भुक्त्वा च सह तै: सर्वैरवसत्‌ तां क्षपां सुखम्‌

Transliteration

sumṛṣṭaṃ bhojayitvā ca brāhmaṇāṃs tatra keśavaḥ | bhuktvā ca saha taiḥ sarvair avasat tāṃ kṣapāṃ sukham |

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。ケーシャヴァはまずその場で、よく整えられた香味豊かな食をもって婆羅門たちをもてなし、ついで自らも彼ら一同と共に食し、その夜をそこに安らかに過ごした。この場面は、婆羅門への敬意と歓待というダルマの理想—己より先に奉仕し、独りの享楽ではなく共に分かち合うこと—を際立たせている。
