यच्चापि परमं दिव्यं तच्चाप्यनुगतं त्वया । विधान विहितं पार्थ कथं शर्म भवेत् परै:,कुन्तीकुमार! जो देवताओंका परम दिव्य (भूभार उतारनेके लिये) निश्चित विधान है, उससे भी तुम सर्वथा परिचित हो। फिर शत्रुओंके साथ संधि कैसे हो सकती है?
yaccāpi paramaṃ divyaṃ taccāpy anugataṃ tvayā | vidhāna-vihitaṃ pārtha kathaṃ śarma bhavet paraiḥ ||
そして、神々の御業のために定められ、運命によって確定されたその至高にして神聖なる目的を、汝もまた余すところなく悟っている。おおクンティーの子よ、その勅定がすでに動き出しているなら、敵と盟約を結んで真の安寧が得られようか。
