असम्प्राप्तानस्त्रपथं परस्य तदा द्रष्टा नश्यतो धार्तराष्ट्रानू । अकुर्वत: कर्म युद्धे समन््तात् तदा युद्ध धार्तराष्ट्रोडन्वतप्स्यत्
asamprāptān astrapathaṁ parasya tadā draṣṭā naśyato dhārtarāṣṭrān | akurvataḥ karma yuddhe samantāt tadā yuddhaṁ dhārtarāṣṭro ’nvatāpsyat ||
サンジャヤは言った。「そのとき、ドリタラーシュトラの子ドゥルヨーダナは、自軍の者たちが消え失せてゆくのを見るであろう――敵の武器の間合いにすら入れず、戦場のどこにも武勲を立てられぬままに。努力と勇気の崩壊を目にして、彼はこの戦を起こしたことを胸中で灼けるように悔いる。」
