Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 30: Sañjaya’s Departure and Yudhiṣṭhira’s Commission of Greetings

अभिवाद्य च वक्तव्यस्ततो5स्माकं पितामह: । भवता शन्‍्तनोर्वशो निमग्न: पुनरुद्धृत:

abhivādya ca vaktavyas tato 'smākaṁ pitāmahaḥ | bhavatā śāntanor vaṁśo nimagnaḥ punar uddhṛtaḥ ||

敬意をもって礼拝したのち、われらの大祖父に申し上げよ。こう告げるのだ――「祖父上! 聖王シャーンタヌ(Śāntanu)の家系が衰亡に沈みかけたとき、あなたはそれを救い上げ、再び立て直されました。いま一度、ご自身の叡智で熟慮され、すべての御孫たちが互いに慈しみ合い、ともに生きられるようにお取り計らいください。」
