Karma, Varṇa-Dharma, and the Ethics of Governance
[दाक्षिणात्य अधिक पाठका १ श्लोक मिलाकर कुल ५९ “लोक हैं।] - इस प्रकार यद्यपि गृहस्थाश्रममें रहने और संन्यास लेनेका भी शास्त्रद्वारा ही विधान किया गया है
sañjaya uvāca |
āmantṛye tvāṁ naradeva-deva gacchāmy ahaṁ pāṇḍava svasti te 'stu |
kaccin na vācā vṛjinaṁ hi kiñcid uccāritaṁ me mama manaso 'bhiṣaṅgāt ||
サンジャヤは言った。「王たちの中の神よ、パーンダヴァよ、あなたに安寧あれ。いま私は暇を乞い、ハスティナープラへ向かう。告げてほしい——心にふと情が昂ぶり、私が少しでも不適切で、あなたを傷つける言葉を口にしてしまい、苦しみを与えたことはなかっただろうか。」
