Sañjaya’s Envoy-Speech on Peace
sampaśyema bhogacayaṃ mahāntaṃ sahāsmābhir dhṛtarāṣṭrastha rājñaḥ

Material abundance (bhoga) does not guarantee contentment; unchecked desire and attachment can keep a ruler dissatisfied even when resources are immense, undermining ethical judgment and dharma.
Sañjaya draws attention to the great wealth and pleasures amassed under Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s authority, highlighting that despite such accumulation, the king (and his courtly situation) remains unsated—an implicit critique of the moral failure that fuels the coming conflict.
