Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
एवमुक्क्त्वा ययौ राम: कुरुक्षेत्रं युयुत्सया । प्रविश्य नगरं चाहं सत्यवत्यै न्न्यवेदयम्
evam uktvā yayau rāmaḥ kurukṣetraṁ yuyutsayā | praviśya nagaraṁ cāhaṁ satyavatyai nyavedayam ||
ビーシュマは言った。「そう言い終えると、ラーマ(パラシュラーマ)は戦いを望み、クルクシェートラへと旅立った。その後、私は都に入り、サティヤヴァティーに一部始終を申し上げた。」
भीष्म उवाच
Two duties are highlighted: the warrior’s resolve to face conflict when honor and obligation demand it, and the ethical responsibility to communicate truthfully and promptly to elders who bear familial and political authority.
After declaring his intent, Parashurama leaves for Kurukshetra seeking battle. Bhishma then returns to the city and conveys the full report of these developments to Satyavati, marking a shift from confrontation to counsel and family governance.
