“गुरोरप्यवलिप्तस्य कार्याकार्यमजानतः । उत्पथप्रतिपन्नस्य परित्यागो विधीयते”

Transliteration

guror apy avaliptasya kāryākāryam ajānataḥ | utpatha-pratipannasya parityāgo vidhīyate ||

Translation

ラーマは言った。「たとえ師であっても、驕りにふくれ、なすべきこととなすべからざることを知らず、邪道に踏み入った者は、捨てられるべきである。」教訓はこうだ——師への敬意はダルマに根ざす。傲慢と道徳的混迷によって導きそのものがアダルマとなるなら、悪に従うより先に、従属を退けねばならない。
