Ambā Seeks Refuge with Rāma Jāmadagnya
rāmeyaṁ mama dauhitrī kāśirājasutā prabho | asyāḥ śṛṇu yathātattvaṁ kāryaṁ kāryaviśārada ||
The verse emphasizes truthful, direct hearing (yathātattvam) and proper procedure: an elder (Bhīṣma) asks a powerful authority (Paraśurāma) to listen to the concerned woman herself, highlighting fairness, accuracy, and ethical deliberation before action.
Bhīṣma addresses Paraśurāma respectfully, identifying a princess of Kāśī as his granddaughter and indicating she has a pending matter. He requests Paraśurāma to hear her account directly and precisely, setting up the dispute/appeal that follows.
