इमं हि पुण्डरीकाक्षमभिभूय प्रसहु च
imaṃ hi puṇḍarīkākṣam abhibhūya prasahu ca
この蓮華眼の御方を打ち伏せ—まさしく力ずくで—（かくして事は運んだ）。この一句は、物語のうち倫理的緊張の極まる瞬間を示す。「蓮華眼」は高貴と自制の徴であるのに、説得やダルマに導かれた振る舞いによってではなく、強圧の力によって抑え込まれる。正しき諫言と支配への衝動との対立が、ここに露わとなる。
