Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 103: Garuḍa’s Protest, Viṣṇu’s Demonstration, and Counsel Toward Śama
saṅgatyā tatra bhagavān viṣṇur āsīc caturbhujaḥ | tatas tat sarvam ācakhyau nārado mātaliṃ prati ||
The verse highlights daiva-saṅgati—events aligning through providence—and the role of truthful narration by a sage. Divine presence and clear communication support the restoration of right understanding (dharma) before consequential action.
At that place, Viṣṇu appears in his four-armed form. Immediately afterward, the sage Nārada recounts to Mātali the full sequence of events relevant to him, conveying the complete background of the matter.
