Effective leadership in a dharmic crisis involves uniting capable allies for a just purpose and guiding them through counsel that is ‘mahārtha’ (deeply meaningful) and ‘sumahodaya’ (aimed at beneficial outcomes), rather than through mere force or personal ambition.
After the gathered kings finish their own discussion, they—having been organized by Kṛṣṇa in support of the Pāṇḍavas—sit together and listen attentively to Kṛṣṇa’s consequential, purpose-driven speech as the political and ethical tensions move toward decisive action.
