ततो हि वरणं कार्य द्विजानां भरतर्षभ | सर्वकामैर्यथान्यायं साधुभिश् पृथग्विधै:
tato hi varaṇaṁ kārya dvijānāṁ bharatarṣabha | sarvakāmair yathānyāyaṁ sādhubhiḥ pṛthagvidhaiḥ ||
ゆえに、バーラタ族の雄牛よ、二度生まれの者(バラモン)を選び、これを敬うのはまことに正しい。徳ある聴聞者は、正義と定められた作法に従い、ふさわしく彼らを供養し、さまざまな願いと必要を、しかるべきかたちで満たすべきである。」
वैशम्पायन उवाच
That righteous people should act with yathānyāya—fairness and propriety—by honoring brāhmaṇas and meeting their legitimate needs, treating such support as a dharmic obligation rather than mere generosity.
Vaiśampāyana continues his instruction by stating a normative rule of conduct: the virtuous should select and honor the dvijas, offering appropriate worship and gifts in diverse forms, aligning social-religious practice with dharma.
