Transliteration

droṇaparvaṇi viprebhyo bhojanaṃ paramārcitam

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「ドローナ・パルヴァ（Droṇa Parva）において、婆羅門たちには、最上の礼をもって尊ばれた食事が供された。」この一句は、戦の暴虐と動乱のただ中にあっても、ヴィプラ（vipra）—学徳ある聖なる客—への敬意と、客をもてなす義務（atithi-satkāra）を守り抜くべきだという、叙事詩の倫理的主張を示している。
