Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 5 — Karmaphala-Nirdeśa and Phalāśruti (कर्मफलनिर्देशः फलश्रुतिश्च)
स नर: सर्वकामांश्व कीर्ति प्राप्पेह शौनक । गच्छेत् परमिकां सिद्धिमत्र मे नास्ति संशय:
sa naraḥ sarvakāmāṁś ca kīrtiṁ prāpya iha śaunaka | gacchet paramikāṁ siddhim atra me nāsti saṁśayaḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「おお、シャウナカよ。ヴィヤーサの作になるこの清浄なる歴史譚—義理深く、ヴェーダに比すべきもの—を、ブラーフマナを先に立てて聴聞する者は、この世において望む享楽のすべてと高き名声を得、のちに最高の完成へと至る。これについて、我に微塵の疑いもない。」
