अज्जरकुशमुज्जानां पलाशशरवर्णिनाम्‌ | यवसेन्धनदिग्धानां कारयीत च संचयान्‌

Transliteration

ajjarakuśam ujjānāṁ palāśaśaravarṇinām | yavasendhanadigdhānāṁ kārayīta ca saṁcayān ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「王が敵軍に悩まされ圧迫されるとき、賢慮をもって財宝と必需の物資を備蓄し、備えを厚くすべきである。また負傷者を治療するための貯えとして、油・脂・蜂蜜・ギー（精製バター）およびあらゆる薬品を整え、さらに実用の資材—アルカ（arka）、クシャ草（kuśa）、ムンジャ（muñja）、パラーシャ（palāśa）、矢、草—を集めよ。燃料を塗って火を放つための火矢もまた備えさせよ。かくして国は包囲にも似た圧力に耐え、戦において有効に応じ得る。」
